Owner, Licensed Professional Counselor, DBT-Linehan Board of Certification
Certified Clinician and Neurofeedback Clinician.
Rachael has always had a strong connection to counseling as a profession. She received her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from McKendree University while working in a community mental health agency. While working on her graduate degree, she provided Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), that program helped shape her focus and practice as a provider. Rachael also worked closely with colleagues receiving and providing consultation and training in the field.
She developed several workshops for clients, presentations for her community and trainings for clinicians. While in practice, she was one of the first to receive National Certification from the Linehan Board and subsequently was promoted to Clinical Director where she spent years supporting a DBT practice consisting of both clients and clinicians. In 2017 she began to integrate neurofeedback into her practice as she witnessed a need to help stabilize symptoms while providing effective therapeutic interventions. While integrating the two together, she realized that she could help speed up the therapeutic process with the addition of neurotherapy. Throughout Rachael’s time as a provider she has focused on understanding the impact of painful events, a person’s development, the brain’s role in self-regulation and how the nervous system responds to life experiences. Keeping all of this in mind, Rachael is able to apply specific interventions needed for each person she works with.
Licensed Outpatient Therapist
My ideal client is someone who wants to address the issues that they are struggling with in an empathetic and validating environment. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, or a host of other issues, and they know that when they come to my office they will be working with someone who truly wants to help them. Ideally, their goals would be related to things that they truly care about and want to improve in their lives. My ideal clients wants to find peace within the chaos that everyday life sometimes presents.
I utilize CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing most frequently with my clients. I want to help you in the way that you respond best to, so I am always adapting to my clients and their specific needs.
Regardless of what you are struggling with right now, I want to help you learn how to cope and improve your personal sense of peace. I hope you will reach out to me so that we can determine the best plan of action for you and your mental health.
Licensed Outpatient Therapist
I was originally drawn to the field of counseling as a career, because I have witnessed many times the devastating effect that mental health struggles can have on individuals and their loved ones. From a young age, I knew that somehow I wanted to help others to improve their mental and emotional wellbeing. Once I found the field of counseling, it felt like a calling, and I never looked back.
I graduated from Spring Hill College with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and the University of Montevallo with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I began my career working with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors and have developed a passion for working with survivors of trauma. I then transitioned into private practice and have worked with children, adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem problems, suicidal thoughts, grief, self-harm, relationship issues, and life transitions. I believe in tailoring treatment to the unique needs of each client by using a variety of approaches.
I am passionate about the process of counseling and helping my clients heal, grow and make positive and lasting changes. My goal in therapy is to create a safe space where my clients can work through the difficulties in life without judgement. I also believe in teaching tangible skills and exercises that allow clients to continue their growth outside of our sessions. I hope you will reach out so I can answer your questions, ease your fears, and help you determine if I am the right fit for you.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
DBT teaches us that change is the only constant upon which we can rely. I strive to aid my clients in finding a place of solace within themselves as they navigate change and challenges.
I began delivering DBT as a clinical practicum student while completing my Master of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. During my immersive practicum experience, I learned how to administer DBT treatment with adults, adolescents and their families, and began practicing DBT skills myself, as well. I witnessed the transformative faculties of DBT to aid my clients in healing relationships and stepping into their power to be able to not only manage their emotions, but to use them to build lives that feel worth living. I have since received post-graduate training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which I use in conjunction to or separately from DBT to support clients healing from trauma. I additionally have clinical experience working with individuals struggling with substance use disorders in residential and outpatient settings. Prior to providing psychotherapy, I worked as a legal advocate for victims of intimate partner violence, which continues to inform the treatment I provide as a clinician. I offer clinical experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals as well as my own lived experience as a member of the LGBTQ+ community
Outside of the the office, you can typically find me “unplugging” outdoors, weight lifting, or fostering dogs in the St. Louis community.

I value connection, honesty, open-mindedness, and willingness, and believe these qualities are vital to healing, learning, and growing.
I consider it a great honor when someone invites me into their vulnerable moments in therapy. Over the last few years, I have worked primarily in crisis intervention and suicide prevention and postvention. I have provided services for adolescents and adults, both individually and in group settings.
I first delivered comprehensive DBT during my internship in graduate school, and now offer it to adolescents and adults here at Still Move. I also enjoy providing other forms of behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy. No matter the therapy, I always operate from a person-centered lens, ensuring that the process is collaborative and clients are empowered to implement desired changes in their lives.
I enjoy working with clients who may feel as if their life is out of control, and there is no hope left to find healing. Maybe you struggle with borderline personality disorder, risky behaviors, self-injury, thoughts of suicide, or even past attempts. Perhaps you experience hopelessness or despair that feels crushing, and you do not know how to move forward. If you relate to any of this, I would love to come alongside you and offer a non-judgmental space to work on your goals.
Ten years ago, I began therapy as a client, and it saved my life. I have experienced first-hand the transformational process of building a therapeutic relationship with a counselor. Now, I have the privilege to experience that same transformational relationship as a clinician.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from Truman State University, then graduating with my MSW from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. In the last seven years, I have worked with people ages 6 to 100 in the areas of grief and bereavement, memory care, trauma, suicidality, self-harm, addiction, OCD, BPD, and bipolar disorder. My skills are based in CBT and DBT, but I believe the modality is second to the therapeutic relationship. Each client is unique; therefore, their care should be too. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I welcome clients from all walks of life, identities and belief systems.
Outside of therapy, I am passionate about joyful movement/exercise, women’s sports, my two cats, artistic expression and the perfect movie night at home.

Life happens, therapy helps.
In spite of our best efforts, sometimes, things just don’t work out in the way we hope they will. When that happens, it can be deeply unsettling. Well-meaning friends and family may encourage us to get over it or to look for the bright side of these events, but that rarely helps. Other times, there isn’t even a clear reason for it, but you know you’re struggling and not feeling like your usual self. Whether there’s an obvious cause or there isn’t, therapy can make all the difference.
The decision to seek out therapy can feel overwhelming and scary. It’s my goal to create a space for you that feels safe and friendly without the fear of judgment. I invite my clients to be their fully authentic selves and I do the same. I accomplish this by taking a creative and curious approach to counseling with a healthy dose of humor, when appropriate.
I am passionate about helping my clients to explore and navigate the “hard stuff” in their lives. Some of these topics include: divorce, history of abuse, infertility, unhealthy family dynamics, spiritual crises, various traumas, pregnancy loss, job loss, marital conflict, and life transitions. If you find yourself in need of additional support to cope with and manage life’s curveballs, I would be so honored to partner with you on your therapy journey.
Will graduated in 2024 with his Master of Arts in Counseling and is excited to have the opportunity to help facilitate therapeutic treatment between those in need and the therapists at Still Move Counseling. He believes that therapy can offer a rich opportunity to develop skills, process confusing and hurtful experiences, and undo unwanted aloneness in the hard things many people walk through in life.
